Honoring Generosity and Legacy Through Scholarships
Thanks to the generosity of families and local businesses, the Summer Creek High School Orchestra is proud to offer scholarships that support our students’ academic and artistic journeys. Whether honoring the legacy of a beloved orchestra member or recognizing the commitment of community partners, these scholarships reflect the shared belief in the power of education and the importance of investing in the next generation.
Gonzalo A. Gonzalez Memorial Scholarship
($1,500)
Established in 2020 by Gonzalo and Gloria Gonzalez, this scholarship honors the memory of their son, Gonzalo A. Gonzalez, a passionate violinist and beloved member of the Summer Creek High School Orchestra. Gonzalo graduated in 2017 and pursued his studies in Marketing at the University of Houston after attending the Honors College at Lone Star. He was known for his vibrant energy, love of photography and video, and devotion to his German Shepherd.
Following his unexpected passing in December 2019 at the age of 20, the Gonzalez family created this $1,500 scholarship to be awarded annually to a graduating senior in the orchestra—ensuring Gonzalo’s spirit continues to inspire future musicians.
